Choices

Expectations and Explanations

I’m [angry]. I’m expecting [certain things] to happen. I should expect [certain things] to happen, darn it! Why shouldn’t I expect people to honor their word and deliver on what they say they’re going to do? And why shouldn’t I expect, no, demand, that I receive what I need so I can enjoy life? Really. Seriously. If I do what’s expected of me, shouldn’t I also have the converse? I don’t have unreal expectations. I’m sick of people saying one thing and doing another. I just expect people to do what they say. I want an explanation! I think I deserve one.
— Untold Millions of People Around the World

Why do so many things not happen that really should? Because there are people who don't do what they say they will ... or, more importantly, what they should. Why is there such unhappiness, suffering, and discord all around the world? Because there are people who want it. Take a moment and consider that cold, hard truth. There are literally people who WANT unhappiness, suffering, and discord and they want to make you miserable and even hurt you. That makes sense, doesn't it? God put mankind in charge over all Creation. Life is up to us. Not just our individual lives, but life, in general.

People ask all the time, it seems, "Why would a good God would allow suffering and evil in the world?" That's not even an appropriate question to ask. The real question is, "Why does mankind put up with suffering and evil in the world?"

The tragedy is that more of mankind CHOOSES evil over goodness than those who choose goodness over evil and lies over the Truth. Even the pope got involved in this recently! Ugh. When a person in a very high level of authority, whom millions of people trust, goes off the reservation, who do you believe? Who do you trust? Good thing we don't have to place our faith in a man with ideas contrary to the Bible (God's Word)! Whew! We trust in Jesus Christ. He will never fail us! Hallelujah!

Life is all about choices. We choose who to trust. We choose what we will do for the day. We choose whom we will allow ourselves to love. Life is all about relationships. Life is all about relationship choices. Do you always choose to love everyone you know and meet? Neither do I. I wish I was perfect and loved everybody, but God is still working things out of me and I'm repenting as He reveals things. But, until mankind consistently chooses goodness over evil and love over hate, the above refrain will continue to be heard from all over the world.

The reason you're going through what you're going through is because Satan and his demons hate you and they want to stop you from fulfilling God's will for your life. The devil is behind all evil in the world; he and his demons inspire people to want unhappiness, suffering, and discord and to want to make you miserable and even hurt you so you want it, too. He wants to break you so you will serve him.

God wants us to be humble so He can utilize us to fulfill His will. But first, we must know the Truth so the Truth can do His job and set us free. The Truth has a name. The Truth is a Person; His name is Jesus Christ. Jesus did not, and does not, have depression. There is literally nothing that can give Him depression. Depression is of the devil. At some point in our lives, we had agreed to have depression. Now we must use the power of the name and the blood of Jesus so we can break the agreement and be set free. Let's agree between us that we will not allow depression to wreck our lives any longer. Amen?

Prayer

Father God, I come to You today, in the name of Jesus, for healing and freedom. I have chosen many evil things in my life and I repent of, renounce, and reject having agreed with the devil, satan, that I should have depression. I cancel out every careless word I have spoken over my self like 'I'm depressed' or 'the like or for any time I have thought in my heart I should feel badly about something you did not want me to engage in. I thank You, my Lord, that You do not punish me, but that Jesus took upon Himself all my sins and the punishment of them. Thank You, Jesus for Your awesome act of great grace! To the glory of the One who sets me free from all bondage to the enemy; Your Son Jesus, amen!
